Western Australia: Karijini National Park and Port Hedland

From the Beach to the Bush!!!     We left Exmouth early on Sunday morning and headed east inland towards Karijini National Park which is part of the Pilbara Region.     This was another big driving day of around 5 or so hours stopping at Nanutarra Roadhouse for lunch and then onto Beasley River Rest Area for a free overnight camp.   Continue reading “Western Australia: Karijini National Park and Port Hedland”

Western Australia: Ningaloo Station, Exmouth and Whale Shark Swim Tour

WOW!!!  Ningaloo Station – another awesome beach camping spot!!!  The Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Area covers more than 600,000 hectares.    Ningaloo Reef, home to 300  species of coral and 500 species of fish, is just a few metres from the shore in some places and is great for snorkelling. Western Australia: Tamala Station, Steep Point and Carnarvon

We left Hamelin Outback Station in the morning and travelled west along Useless Loop Road to Tamala Station where we had booked for 4 nights.     It was a very long drive travelling on sealed and dirt roads to the Tamala Homestead to check in and after letting the tyres down it was a another slow and sandy 15 or so km drive onto the beach.    So many  people raved about “Tamala Station” and it did not disappoint!!!
