On Tuesday 25 July was our first family touristy outing. We drove to Byron Bay NSW and spent the day there. We had a great coffee and had a walk around town, its a very relaxed beachside town. Wow, couldn’t believe the amount of backpackers there though!!
Then we did a 1.5km walk from Palm Valley up to the Lighthouse stopping at a lookout which was the most easterly point in Australia!! The walk up was pretty good, Mitchell did well walking up by himself, only whinging a couple of times for Andrew to pick him up and carry him!!!!! We saw pods of dolphins and some whales in the distance. The lighthouse is managed by volunteers. It was quite interesting looking and reading about the history of the Lighthouse. After making a coin donation, we did a 20 minute tour with a ‘volunteer’ guide walking up to the top of the Lighthouse. The views from the top outside the Lighthouse were spectacular!!!! Beautiful day out!!!
And if you are wondering why I am doing a ballerina type stance in the top photo, I’m actually attempting a TAWKers (Travelling Australia with Kids) pose!!!!! This is a FB page we are following for advice, tips and information on travelling around Australia with kids!!
